Dine amongst the celebs at this celestial restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur invitations company to a one-of-a-kind celestial-themed meal at its ‘Find Your Lucky Star’ restaurant pop-up created by award-winning global designer Emma Maxwell.

Located inside the resort’s Pavilions Lounge, diners are greeted by an unassuming black rectangular field. Once inside, the ambiance is remodeled. A 3-metre-long mirrored glass desk set for 12 displays a time-lapse mild present of a 360-degree galaxy produced by movie director Damon Escott. Stars twinkle and shoot throughout the partitions of the inside as company dine on a six course meal, enveloping them inside a slowly spinning Milky Way. To additional set the temper, an outer space-inspired soundscape conceived by display screen composer and music producer Ben Rosen completes the scene.

Designed with dreamers in thoughts, ‘Find Your Lucky Star’ is touted as a transitory expertise, transporting diners past the busy streets of Kuala Lumpur utilizing sensory results.

Chinese delicacies chef Ho Boon crafted the January menu to accompany the visible and aural parts, presenting six programs with wine pairings paying homage to each Asian influences in addition to the restaurant pop-up theme. From steamed cod with ginger soya sauce and truffle oil to the flying-saucer-esque crispy fried oyster on roasted sesame cucumber, wasabi mayo and salmon ikura, every plate that whizzes by is fantastically made and provides to the theatrical dinner.

Maxwell, a designer whose work typically goals to create an immersive atmosphere, enjoys designing non permanent installations as a result of they grant distinctive flexibility. “I’ve done installations in the past and yes, I hope to do more in the future”, Maxwell stated. “They’re fun to do. You can be more creative in many more ways than with a permanent space”.
