Former MP Tyrie to chair UK competitors regulator CMA – Sky News

LONDON (Reuters) – Andrew Tyrie, a Conservative former MP, shall be named afterward Wednesday as the brand new chairman of Britain’s Competition & Markets Authority (CMA), broadcaster Sky News reported.

Tyrie chaired the decrease home of parliament’s Treasury Committee till he stepped down as a MP earlier than 2017’s election. As the committee’s chairman he led investigations into the banking sector after the monetary disaster in addition to the work of the Bank of England and the finance ministry.

Sky News stated the choice can be introduced by business minister Greg Clark.
