Man rides motorcycle from Germany to Dubai together with his cat

The journey took 102 days and so they’ve now settled in Dubai. Martin’s trusty motorcycle (which he refers to as ‘The Queen’) took himself and Mogli to the port in Bandar Abbas, the final cease earlier than coming into into the UAE safely and with out grievance. But then, with a bang and a cloud of black smoke, his steed gave in to the soiled gas it had seen on the best way. Because of that, they needed to observe the restoration truck for the previous few metres from Sharjah into Dubai. Although it was most likely the very best time throughout the journey for a breakdown, it was irritating for Martin to get so shut and never have the triumphant arrival he had envisioned.

This minor disappointment apart, Martin actually loved the journey and all the nations himself and Mogli visited alongside the best way: ‘while some of the places that I’ve seen had been so extremely stunning that there isn’t any method to seize and even describe it to anybody, typically, one thing so simple as a campground would take a particular place in my reminiscence due to what I have skilled and, extra importantly, due to who I met there.’

However the journey did contain just a few extra bushy moments. The duo nearly actually ran into one other four-legged good friend alongside the best way – whereas on the best way to Tatvan in Turkey, Martin and Mogli nearly hit a cow which was in entrance of a truck Martin overtook. By the time he noticed it, it was nearly too late. The bike additionally obtained caught within the desert, at evening whereas travelling from Esfahan to Yazd in Iran.

‘That day I started way too late and was trying to make it at least half way to my destination. The lake that I found on the map and decided to camp at, turned out to be a five-centimetre-deep patch of salty water, in the middle of nowhere and by the time I found out it was already too late, my bike had sunk into the wet clay and wouldn’t transfer an inch. There was actually nothing there, nobody to name for assist, no cell reception, no streets, no shelter, no wooden and I used to be chilly from the final two hours of driving into the darkish. I obtained all my energy collectively and after struggling for nearly an hour, freed the Queen and arrange camp.’

And, clearly Mogli obtained lost just a few occasions. In Albania, Martin thinks she obtained locked in in a camper, whereas fearing that she had been locked in with any individual who had pushed off. In Zanjan in Iran, he found her locked up in a bathroom cabin, and on the 100th (and second final day) of the journey she went lacking in Bandar Abbas.

Martin says if had been to do all of it once more, he would: ‘I guess, because of the experience I have now, there would be a few minor changes. I wouldn’t dare to take these loopy roads by the Bosnian woods alone once more (glad I used to be naive sufficient to do although) and take a bit extra time at first…But that’s it, actually, I have no regrets.’

And when requested about their future travels, Martin and Mogli have tons deliberate: ‘at the end of summer, when temperatures here will drop below 45° again, we will continue our adventure. The plan is to go through Iran and Pakistan to India. We’ll most likely go to Sri Lanka and Nepal too since we’ll already be very shut however let’s see what life has in retailer for us, there’s no level in planning forward too far.’
