New York City unveils two new exhibitions on Isamu Noguchi’s gorgeous Akari lamps

Two new companion exhibitions have opened in New York City which are devoted to the work of sculptor and artist Isamu Noguchi, taking guests on an in-depth journey by way of the inventive course of behind his well-known Akari lamps.

Running till January 2019 on the Noguchi Museum, the exhibitions are referred to as Akari: Sculpture by Other Means and Akari Unfolded: A Collection by YMER&MALTA. Devoted to the artist’s collapsible paper lanterns created from 1951 up till the tip of his life, Akari: Sculpture by Other Means contains over 100 distinctive items, in addition to archival supplies, whereas Akari Unfolded: A Collection by YMER&MALTA presents a choice of 23 Akari-inspired lamp designs created by the modern French design studio.
