PARIS (AFP) – The newest spin-off within the Star Wars saga, devoted to Han Solo, will likely be screened at Cannes subsequent month, the movie competition introduced on Friday (April 6).
Solo: A Star Wars Story will grace the competition’s pink carpet forward of its release in France and the US.
“Presented out of competition, the latest film of the Star Wars galaxy (directed) by Ron Howard brings together Han Solo, his faithful Chewbacca, the crooked Lando Calrissian, the Millenium Falcon and of course the droids,” the competition mentioned on its web site.
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith was the final within the franchise to air at Cannes in 2005.
The newest instalment takes the viewers again to the youth of the well-known smuggler and pilot Han Solo, performed by US actor Alden Ehrenreich.
It is the second spin-off derived from the well-known science fiction collection, after Rogue One was launched in December 2016 which made greater than US$1 billion (S$1.three billion) on the field workplace.
The Cannes International Film Festival will run from May eight to 19.
