RABAT (AFP) – Madonna, the Queen of Pop, seems to have travelled to the previous imperial metropolis of Marrakech in western Morocco to have fun her 60th birthday on Thursday (Aug 15).
“Walking thru the Labyrinth of the Medina during the Call to Prayer,” the American singer wrote on her Facebook and Instagram accounts on the eve of the large day.
She posted a “birthday, magic, adventure” video shot at night time within the labyrinthine alleys of the town’s historic market.
On Tuesday, she posted a portrait of herself sporting a fez adorned with berber jewelry, together with a caption studying: “Today I am wearing C A K E on my head!”
Celebrity watchers in Marrakech stated Moroccan police had been preserving journalists and photographers at bay, whereas hypothesis was rife over the venue and visitor checklist for the star’s birthday celebrations.
To mark the day, Madonna has launched a set for the charity “Raising Malawi” which helps orphans and weak kids.
“For my birthday, I can think of no better gift than connecting my global family with this beautiful country and the children who need our help most,” Madonna, who has adopted 4 Malawian kids, wrote on Facebook.
