HOUSTON • Two years after Mariah Carey’s relationship with Australian billionaire James Packer lost its shine, the singer is now promoting an engagement ring he gave her.
According to the New York Post, a supply mentioned the ring was offered to a jeweller in Los Angeles for US$2.1 million (S$2.eight million) though it was purchased for a rumoured US$10 million.
After they break up up, he had reportedly requested for its return, though the settlement they negotiated allowed her to maintain it.
Downplaying any notion that Carey, 48, is in want of money, her publicist informed the Page Six leisure portal: “Mariah has been very vocal lately about her selection to maneuver ahead in her life surrounded by positivity.
“That requires leaving emotional and material baggage behind, including an old engagement ring from an ex-boyfriend.”
Carey, who is scheduled to carry out in Singapore on Nov three, acquired engaged to Mr Packer in January 2016 after he had wooed her for lower than a 12 months.
