Last month, YOTEL Boston added a brand new member to its workers: a robotic named YO2D2, who was constructed by San Jose, California-based company Savioke, which develops and deploys autonomous robots that work in human environments.
YO2D2 is a 36-inch tall Relay robotic programmed to autonomously summon the elevator, navigate crowded areas, dance or ‘shimmy’ to music and greet company within the first ground Club Lounge and rooftop Sky Lounge bar with intelligent messages. Guests can summon YO2D2 by requesting something from snacks to contemporary towels from Mission Control, which is YOTEL converse for the entrance desk. YO2D2 will then zoom its approach as much as every cabin (a.ok.a. visitor room) permitting company to retrieve no matter merchandise they requested from a storage compartment through the robotic’s touchscreen.
